Mobile Messaging SMS Terms of Service

These terms of service apply to the UT Medicine patient portal administered by UT Health Austin (part of UT Medicine).

  • When you sign up for text messages from the UT Medicine patient portal, you agree to receive updates related to your relationship with us. This includes notifications about your appointments, MyChart account, one-time passcodes, billing, prescription reminders, and care management.
  • You can opt out of SMS messages by texting "STOP" to the respective short code. Upon receiving your opt-out request, you will get one final message confirming that you have unsubscribed. After that, you will no longer receive SMS messages from the short code you opted out of. If you would like to subscribe again, you can sign up using the UT Medicine patient portal or text "HELP" to the short code for instructions.
  • If you are experiencing issues with the messaging program, please reply with the keyword HELP for further assistance or contact the Access Center directly at 1-833-882-2737.
  • SMS message delivery is generally reliable but not 100% guaranteed. Neither UT Health Austin nor its affiliates, nor the wireless carriers, are responsible for delayed or undelivered messages.
  • Message and data rates may apply for any communications between you and us. The frequency of messages may vary. If you have any questions regarding your text or data plan, please contact your wireless provider.
  • If you have questions regarding privacy, please review our Privacy Policy.
