Biography and Education

Clinical Biography

David Dalton, MD, is a fellowship-trained endourologist in UT Health Austin’s Urology Clinic. He specializes in complex kidney stone disease and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) surgery, with expertise in endoscopic surgery, including ureteroscopy (URS), percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL), and holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP). Additionally, Dr. Dalton is an assistant professor in the Dell Medical School Department of Surgery and Perioperative Care at The University of Texas at Austin.

Dr. Dalton earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Rice University and his medical degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He completed a residency in urology at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and a fellowship in endourology at Indiana University School of Medicine.

Dr. Dalton discovered his passion for teaching medical students during his residency and fellowship and is dedicated to equipping future generations of urologists to advance the field of endourology. He is a member of the American Urologic Association, the Endourological Society, the Texas Medical Association, and the Travis County Medical Society.
